A Decade of Geospatial Innovation: MGISS Inaugral Customer Event
A decade ago, I embarked on a mission to advance geospatial innovation & technologies, to enhance productivity and safety in critical infrastructure projects, particularly in the water, transportation and energy sectors.
This year, as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary of successful trading, we wanted to work towards our inaugural customer-focussed event. We are now proud to share the highlights of our first event, which was held at the end of September at Leica Geosystems Training School in Whitchurch. It’s success was a testament to our commitment to putting customers first for 10 years, and striving for geospatial innovation in every move we make.
Event Highlights:
Showcasing Cutting-Edge Technologies: We demonstrated our latest geospatial solutions designed to improve site operations. These technologies are pivotal in ensuring precision and prevention, helping our clients achieve greater efficiency and safety in their projects.
Insightful Presentations: Our event featured presentations from industry experts, including GIS in linear asset management from Rob Nichol of Esri UK, and the latest in Reality Capture from Steven Duffy of Leica Geosystems, two of our key industry partners. They shared their insights on the future of geospatial technology, providing valuable perspectives on how these innovations can be leveraged to address current and future challenges in infrastructure management.
Interactive Demonstrations: Attendees had the opportunity to engage with our technologies through hands-on demonstrations. This interactive approach allowed them to experience firsthand the benefits of our solutions in real-world scenarios. The outdoor arena and construction “sand-pit” at the Leica training school was a real hit with the delegates, and provided an opportunity to create real-world scenarios.
Networking Opportunities: The event also served as a platform for networking, enabling our customers to connect with peers, share experiences, and discuss potential collaborations. The positive feedback we received underscores the value of these interactions in fostering a collaborative community.
Our “Why”:
Founded in 2014, MGISS was born out of my extensive experience in the utility and infrastructure sectors and a desire to transform how these industries perceive the value of spatial data and sustainability. We see our collective role at MGISS as “building bridges” between people, technology, and sustainability to solve global challenges.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate a decade of innovation, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of geospatial innovation. Our focus on precision and prevention will continue to drive our efforts in delivering solutions that not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers.
Stay tuned for upcoming posts and events where we will delve deeper into the theme of “Precision Meets Prevention” and introduce some exciting new MGISS product offerings and enhanced capabilities. We are eager to share how these advancements will further support our customers in achieving their goals.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of our inaugural event. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and geospatial innovation.
