About the Role
MGISS are looking for a passionate and experienced Geospatial Sales Consultant to join our growing sales team. You will play a key role in customer acquisition and outbound sales activity as we enter our next phase of growth.
As a key member of the team, working closely with colleagues in marketing and professional services, you will rapidly grow the MGISS customer base and develop our propositions within new accounts.

Role Overview

  • Drive sales of our geospatial technologies — including GNSS, GIS, EO, and Data/Consultancy services — into our target industries: Utilities, Infrastructure, and AEC.
  • Introduce new product and service propositions to these markets by ensuring MGISS maintains a strong presence with customers, developing a deep understanding of their future needs, and collaborating with our professional services team to translate these into value propositions that our customers will buy.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and sales-focused self-starter, confident and informed in all commercial activities, and equipped with excellent communication skills. You will have a strong desire to build long-lasting relationships, be an excellent listener, and demonstrate strong attention to detail while managing multiple ongoing activities and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all allocated leads for suitability and drive them through the sales pipeline.
  • Contribute to sales and marketing activity by identifying trends and patterns.
  • Represent the business at trade events, conferences, and in the marketplace.
  • Own and ensure a first-class customer experience.
  • Analyse customer feedback and report to management and product teams.
  • Take ownership of the full sales cycle for our solutions.

Requirements & Skills

  • Geospatial industry and sector sales experience (Utilities/Infrastructure/AEC).
  • Experience with geospatial technologies such as GNSS, GIS, EO, and Data/Consultancy services and their application.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the value MGISS provides to target sectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and patterns.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for handling objections and negotiating.
  • Confidence in demonstrating technical solutions.
  • MGISS uses HubSpot for sales and marketing activity; training will be provided.

About the Role
As part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Senior GIS Consultant with a combination of the right attitude and skills to join our existing team. As a fast-growing, VC-backed company, it’s an exciting time to be here as we develop and launch some exciting new solutions and services into the market.

Based from our office in Liverpool, the role requires drive, energy, and technical ability to deliver first-class technical sales support and customer service, product training (online and onsite) and problem-resolution skills. All product training will be provided both internally and via supplier training courses, however, it is expected that the successful candidate will have experience with some of our solutions and services already. The role is well suited to recent graduates in geomatics-related disciplines.

You will work alongside members of our Professional Services and Product teams with a range of data capture, analysis, visualisation and compliance technologies. In doing so, you will provide critical input for delivering projects on time.

With exposure to an expanding range of market sectors and an extensive knowledge pool, you will deliver dynamic, innovative solutions to our customers by thinking both logically and creatively.

Role Overview
Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Operations Director, using your established skillset in GIS you will provide consultancy with clients (either individually or as part of a team) to understand requirements and then implement GIS-based solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Providing expertise, guidance and support to customers in the installation, integration configuration and use of GIS platforms
  • As part of the services we provide, develop and implement GIS solutions to various key account customers
  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor, helping to demonstrate best practices with GIS technology and growing a customer’s understanding of GIS
  • Deliver first-class training and technical support where required.

Essential:

  • Over 5 years of experience in the GIS industry
  • UK or Irish citizen, or valid UK work permit holder (including EU Settlement Scheme), without the need for further sponsorship
  • Full clean driving licence with a willingness to travel
  • Master’s Degree in GIS or a related discipline
  • Experience in managing and delivering GIS projects
  • Expert user of ArcGIS Pro
  • Proven development skills in Python, including APIs such as ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python
  • Thorough understanding of GIS best practices for quality control/checking and ETL processes
  • Experience with ETL packages such as FME Flow Hosted, FME Cloud, and ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension
  • Advanced data management skills to facilitate Spatial Data Infrastructures for complex projects and multi-platform delivery
  • Proven experience in integrating GIS with other enterprise systems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Advanced numeracy, analytical, and computer skills for data manipulation and management
  • Ability to think creatively and logically to solve design and development problems
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply knowledge practically
  • Focus on results and project delivery

Desirable:

  • Experience in GIS applications within the Utilities, AEC, or Environmental sectors
  • Experience with ESRI Server products, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for GIS, and SDE-enabled Geodatabases
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Experience Builder (including Experience Builder Developer Edition)
  • Proven experience and understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • Expertise in ArcGIS Arcade scripting
  • Knowledge of CAD and BIM, including AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360
  • Experience in managing mobile data capture software, such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123
  • Experience with high-accuracy GNSS technology
  • Web GIS development experience (ArcGIS API for JavaScript, OpenLayers, Leaflet)
  • Proficiency in programming languages and software development (JavaScript, .net)
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
