Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Technical Lead, using your established skillset in GIS you will provide consultancy with clients (either individually or as part of a team) to understand requirements and then implementing GIS-based solutions to meet those requirements
  • Providing expertise, guidance and support to customers in the installation, integration configuration and use of GIS platforms
  • As part of the services we provide, develop and implement GIS solutions to various key account customer
  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor, helping to demonstrate best practice with GIS technology and growing a customer’s understanding GIS
  • Deliver first classing training and technical support where required.

Requirements:

Essential

  • 5+ years experience in the GIS Industry
  • Masters Degree in GIS or similar discipline
  • Experience managing and delivering GIS projects for internal and external clients.
  • Expert user of ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience of the ESRI Server products including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for GIS and SDE enabled Geodatabases
  • Proven development in the use of Python including APIs such as Pandas, ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python and TensorFlow
  • Proven experience and understanding with relational database management systems (RDBMS) including SQL Server and/or Oracle and scripting in T-SQL
  • Be well versed in GIS best practice for quality control/checking and ETL
  • Advanced data management skills to facilitate Spatial Data Infrastructures for complex projects and multi-platform delivery.
  • Proven experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced numeracy, analytical and computer skills for data manipulation and management.
  • Ability to think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to apply knowledge into practical schemes.
  • A focus on results and project delivery.

Desirable

  • Full clean driving licence. Willingness to travel.
  • Experience of GIS application within Utilities and Infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience with ETL packages such as FME, FME Server and ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension. Open source ETLs such as GDAL
  • Experience in the management of mobile data capture software such as ArcGIS Field Maps Collector for ArcGIS, Survey123
  • Exposure to other desktop GIS software (e.g. FME, MapInfo, QGIS, GRASS).
  • Web GIS Development (ArcGIS API for JavaScript, OpenLayers, Leaflet)
  • Programming languages and software development (JavaScript, .NET).
  • Any experience with Cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Technical Sales team including site demonstrations and training where necessary (post-COVID-19).
  • Provide online support and training on MGISS products and solutions to clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software & hardware issues 
  • Onboarding and configuration of GNSS hardware solutions to clients
  • Attendance at MGISS regional events and industry tradeshows

Requirements:

Essential

  • 1-2 Years experience in the GIS industry
  • Degree in GIS, Geomatics or similar discipline
  • Experience in the use of ArcGIS Pro, Desktop
  • Full Driving licence
  • Previous experience in providing training and technical support in a technical disciple

Desirable

  • The familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL Server, PostgreSQL
  • Use of high accuracy GPS/GNSS equipment and GNSS data capture applications
  • Familiarisation of the Android operating system
  • Any development experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS would be a distinct advantage.
  • Use of open source GIS including QGIS

MGISS head office is based in Liverpool and the role will ideally suit someone with a North West base who wants to be part of a team but can also work independently and take the initiative.

The Role

  • We want someone to turbo-charge our sales using their own initiative but also close the deals that our marketing team creates through clear sales and marketing alignment.
  • Assist in the development of our services propositions by working closely with clients on their problems and challenges
  • Provide excellent account management by working with both the client and MGISS delivery teams to build high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Maintain good levels of technical knowledge surrounding the advances in data science and research – we will help you develop this!
  • Acquire new customers with the most compelling offering on the market and discover new opportunities 

Qualifications and previous experience

  • Demonstrable, high-performance and long-established history in selling technology solutions to utility or infrastructure sectors, ideally both
  • Demonstrate creativity in the approach to sales and building long-term customer relationships

In this campaign marketing role, you will be working closely with all areas of Marketing, Sales and Partners to plan and execute a variety of marketing campaigns, with a focus on lead generation/pipeline growth. Working closely with the wider sales and marketing teams and agencies you will own and implement the full mix of marketing campaigns for the business across multiple channels to ensure strong content led campaigns are driving new customer acquisition.

You will be comfortable with marketing automation technology and have a proven, successful track record in using email marketing activities and PPC to generate opportunities. A keen eye for analytics will also help, as you will be tasked with using the results of marketing activities to determine future strategy and key business decisions.

To be successful in your application for this role, you will have a minimum of two years.

  • Experience working within a technology organisation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience using marketing automation tools.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, preferably HubSpot.
  • Excellent time management skills, thus able to juggle multiple campaigns simultaneously.
