MGISS strengthen strategic team with appointment of industry veteran, Mike Cooper

Tuesday, 5th November 2019

MGISS are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Cooper as a strategic advisor to the business. This is important as we enter our next phase of growth and need to strengthen our leadership team with strategic expertise and deep knowledge of the challenges that our core sectors face, namely Utilities and Infrastructure, with spatial data.

With a 40 plus years career history in cartography, photogrammetry, surveying and GIS, Mike will be bringing valuable understanding of the transformation taking place, as surveying and GIS capabilities converge to support the emerging data needs of those organisations responsible for the operation of our national infrastructure, with links to new standards and initiatives such as the National Digital Twin.

Mike (Cooper) had this to say on joining MGISS “Yes, it’s great to be part of the MGISS team and a business at the forefront of the UK’s innovative data technology sector based here in the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.” He added, “I was struck with the simplicity of the solutions on offer and how the workflows enabled businesses to easily adapt to emerging technical and regulatory challenges by continuing to use their existing geodatabase technology.”

Mike Darracott – MGISS Managing Director commented “Having worked with Mike in sharing ideas and our vision for MGISS, I am delighted that he has agreed to join us and support our expansion at this time. We are seeing an increase in demand for our services, specialist expertise and solutions, particularly within the utilities and infrastructure sectors, and Mike’s appointment will strengthen our team, create a focus for our solutions into this growing space, and give us an invaluable sounding-board for our strategy and vision.”
