Join MGISS and Esri on 3rd September at Severn Trent Training Academy for a practical day exploring how geospatial technology is changing the way infrastructure is designed, delivered, handed over and managed.

Whether you’re delivering a pipeline construction programme, managing the handover of a new network, or operating and maintaining buried assets long after the last trench is closed, your data needs to move with the work.

But too often, critical project and asset information sits across disconnected drawings, spreadsheets, survey files, field apps, dashboards and handover packs. Design teams, site teams, asset owners and operators may all be working with different versions of the same picture.

AEC Tech Day 2026 is not a conference. It’s a practical showcase built around one question:
What does it look like when geospatial data joins up across the full infrastructure lifecycle?

Across the day, you’ll hear from technical experts at MGISS and Esri, alongside industry peers, about how organisations are using GIS to connect design, pre-construction, field operations, as-built capture, reporting, handover and long-term asset management.

We will explore how data from CAD and BIM environments can feed into GIS workflows from the start of a project, helping teams reduce duplication, improve visibility and build stronger asset records before infrastructure reaches operation.

And then you’ll get hands-on with the workflows.

The afternoon will focus on live demonstrations and practical sessions using real tools, real data and real infrastructure workflows. From site investigation and GNSS-enabled capture through to dashboards, asset reports and handover outputs, the day is designed to show what connected GIS can look like in practice.
